The Sea

Dawn was at our toes.
Lying on the cold white sand.
We didn’t move.

We listened to the voice of the sea.
Telling us that life is nothing more than what we make it.
Hushing the noises we made with the way it kissed the shore.

Almost like it was jealous.
Like it wanted its waves to kiss the sand,
With as much passion as our lips collapsed.

I have not thought too much of that moment.
Of how the sea screamed,
And my breath slept on your cheek.

I have not thought too much of that moment.
Of how the dawn was breaking the very last void of night,
And how your voice was breaking my heart to pieces.
